Artful Quill is an independent publishing imprint operated by Olivia Norris. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what your choices are. It applies to artfulquill.com, artfulanthem.com and artfulimagineering.com.

What we collect, and when
If you browse the site or play a game in Quill's Arcade, we do not ask you for any information. Our hosting provider, Base44, stores an anonymous analytics session identifier in your browser so we can see how many people visit and which pages they use. Your shopping cart is also stored in your own browser. Neither is used to identify you, contact you, advertise to you, or build a profile about you.
If you place an order, we collect your name, email address, phone number and shipping address. We need all of these to have your book printed and delivered — Lulu, our printer, requires a phone number for carrier delivery.
We never see your card details. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number does not pass through this website and is not stored by us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising. We share only what is necessary, with three companies:
- Lulu Press, Inc. — receives your name, address and phone number in order to print and ship your book
- Stripe, Inc. — handles payment and receives your email and billing details
- Base44 — hosts this website and provides basic analytics
We may also disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 7 years to meet tax and accounting requirements, then deleted. Order-status links sent after checkout expire after 48 hours. Analytics identifiers are retained by Base44 under their own retention schedule. We do not keep information longer than we need it for the purpose it was collected.
Your choices
Email us at Books@artfulquill.net to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or request deletion. We'll respond within 30 days. Deletion requests for completed orders may be limited by our legal obligation to retain tax records.
Children's privacy
Our books and our arcade are made for children, so we take this seriously. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Quill's Arcade requires no account, no name, no email and no sign-in, contains no advertising, no chat, no comments and no leaderboards, and loads no third-party content. The only information involved is the anonymous analytics identifier described above, which is used solely to keep the site working — never to identify, contact, advertise to, or profile a child.
Orders may only be placed by adults 18 or over.
Parents: if you believe your child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it. You may also review or refuse any further collection of your child's information by contacting us at the same address. See our For Parents page for more.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Payment is processed by Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 company — the highest certification available. We maintain reasonable administrative and technical safeguards for the order information we hold.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for material changes affecting children's information, obtain consent where the law requires it.
